Sydney Key exemplifies what it means to be an empowered woman, empowering other women. Being part of KS WELI and spearheading dozens of new initiatives, she has completely transformed the organization’s landscape. She consistently displays compassionate leadership, a welcoming spirit, and an incomparable drive for progress.
Sydney joined KS WELI her freshman year of college as part of the Student Council Membership Engagement Committee. Within this role, she integrated numerous new organizational features including the point system and weekly newsletters. She translated this same passion and enthusiasm for change as a Student Board member her sophomore year, leading the Logistics Committee. She is also a vital member of the SHEarmy as a LeadHERship Associate Intern, working as a TA for a KS WELI sponsored course and assisting with other institute tasks. Sydney was elected as Student Board President for the 2023-2024 school year earlier this year.
In addition to her portfolio of achievements, Sydney is truly one of the most caring and considerate individuals. Whether she’s volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House as part of a philanthropic project or helping another Student Board member with their tasks, Sydney actively takes the time to engage with the KS WELI community. Alongside the current Student Board President, Ingrid Villareal, she leads with an intention for change and inclusivity.
Sydney is an ideal example of a great leader and the KS WELI community is grateful for all of her contributions. As Sydney learns and grows as a leader, KS WELI is excited to grow alongside her and continue to be a beacon of hope for female founders in the community.
