The Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute’s Student Board aims to provide undergraduate women in all fields the opportunity to serve, lead within the community, and enrich and explore entrepreneurial ventures.
Members of the student council embody what it means to be women in leadership aiming to make a difference and the leaders within Student Board who make it all happen, like President Ingrid Villareal, embody these values.
Villarreal got started in KS WELI her junior year.
“I first joined KS WELI as part of the Featured Female Founder of the Month,” Villarreal said. “[It’s now known as the] FoundHER program, and I joined KS WELI in 2021 when I started my non-profit Sweat X Serve.”
After gaining recogniton for her non-profit Sweat x Serve, which aims to “assist with healthcare and societal intiatives in Austin” through teaching fitness classes, Villarreal got involved in Student Board.
“I then joined the Student Board at the end of 2021,” Villarreal said. “After that I became President-Elect in Spring 2022 and then President in Fall 2022!”
KS WELI brought about a new way of community to Villarreal.
“I joined KS WELI because of the unique nature of the community,” Villarreal said. “It’s an environment of interdisciplinary women joining together to support each other.”
Since her membership in Student Board, Ingrid Villarreal’s involvement and dedication to KS WELI is hard not to notice. All while being a student, managing her non-profit, and taking on the duties of SB President, Villarreal has launched Founding Fearless: a podcast dedicated to empowering college women who are young entrepreneurs.
KS WELI is beyond fortunate to have Ingrid Villarreal as its president for her leadership, community activism, and commitment to young women entrepreneurs.
