FoundHER Update with Hannah David

Hannah David’s entrepreneurial leadership style is unique in that she shares her business with her sister, Rachel. Thus, many of the values that encompass her leadership style, also align with Rachel. Hannah’s values stem from faith, authenticity, and empathy. Through these values, Hannah takes on a number of domains within an entrepreneurial mindset. The main competencies that are found in Hannah are communication and collaboration, flexibility and adaptability, and opportunity recognition. Hannah and her sister, Rachel, are constantly communicating on their projects together. Hannah currently serves as the primary photographer, both sisters work closely in culling the final gallery of photos, with Rachel stepping in to headline the editing phase. Not only is Hannah communicating with her sister, but she is constantly communicating with her clients. She wants to give her customers the best experience and the best way to do that is to be open with communication and talk to clients about their needs, worries, or anything else that may be helpful for the shoot. By actively communicating, she makes the client feel more comfortable and at ease during their shoot. Flexibility and adaptability are always important, especially with photography. Hannah has to be flexible with weather, amount of sunlight, and other factors that are not in anyone’s control to be able to have a successful photoshoot. Hannah also recognizes her opportunity to amplify the voices of minorities and people of color. She sets pc: the davids apart by highlighting her and Rachel’s intentionality in honoring the integrity of natural features of people of color when captured in photo. They pride themselves in honing an editing style that adapts and stays true to all skin tones, and use this as an opportunity to empower minorities and celebrate beauty in diversity.

Hannah leads with her strengths and values by wholeheartedly integrating them into the work she does, especially for pc: the davids. One of her strengths is empathy and she shows this through her work by attentively working with the client to find a package that can fit into their unique wants and needs, from venue to budget, and everything in between. She understands that everyone has different visions and circumstances which require flexibility beyond any pre-set list of packages, and she’s committed to work with the client to find something personalized to their needs. She is also good at reading people, which helps her figure out how to tackle a photoshoot and help the customer come out of their shell and be the best version of themself. Her values come into play because 10% of the proceeds that pc: the davids receives are donated to charity organizations such as World Vision and Thirst Project. Hannah cares about giving back to her community and focuses on doing so through her work. She leads her company by focusing on her strengths and also ensuring that her values are always aligned with her work as she strives to create an environment of kindness, intentionality, and giving back through her company.
