Celebrating Our Student Jewelry Winners

Prior to the UT Student Designer Celebration, I had never stepped foot inside the Kendra Scott Flagship Store on Congress Avenue. Three months into my KS WELI internship and unfamiliar with the world of jewelry and design, I arrived on-site with an armful of KS WELI decorations and an open mind, excited to see where the evening would take me.

The UT Student Designer Celebration is a yearly event honoring the dedicated student designers of the Kendra Scott Accessory Design Course — a hands-on class that guides students through the process of designing jewelry through the Kendra Scott lens. Taught by Jessica Ciarla, this course provides students with invaluable insight into product development and challenges them to design a jewelry prototype in small teams. At the end of the semester, the public votes on which jewelry piece is produced by Kendra Scott, and the winning team commemorates the release of their design at the UT Student Designer Celebration at the Kendra Scott Flagship Store.

This year’s winning design — the Eli Cuff Bracelet — is a stunning hexagonal piece developed by Julia Wachsman, Millie Willett, Noelle Campos, Rheal Zackaria, and Sienna Stolte. And while I do not consider myself knowledgeable in the field of jewelry development, I could tell that the designers of this bracelet are just as talented as they are excited about their work. Each designer arrived at the flagship store dressed to-the-nines, and it was an absolute joy to see them don the Eli Cuff Bracelet for the first time alongside proud family, friends, and mentors. From the flagship store’s delicious refreshments to the proud smiles of everyone in attendance, the UT Student Designer Celebration was an incredibly memorable experience commemorating student creativity, innovation, and drive — and it was an honor to witness it firsthand.
